The Wider Community

We prepare our children for the future by being active members of our community. We encourage our children to model Christ by actively supporting a range of different causes and helping others less fortunate than ourselves.

Each class supports a different charity and fundraisers throughout the year for their cause. Through the Civic award, the Year 6’s independently raise money for a range of different charities. We, the adults and children of Sacred Heart endeavor to share our faith and values with the world and the local community, so that others will come to know the love of Christ.

Selling donations of food from the Harvest festival. All proceeds were contributed to Cafod. Any food or produce left over was donated to Anode, a local charity that provides support to the vulnerable in our community. The Choir singing Christmas Carols at Kirkham House. Paignton Community Larder, a local charity that helps to support vulnerable families, came into school to present an assembly about what we want for our local community. The adults and children thought about what we want for Christmas and then what we want for the people in our community. We invited Gemma from the charity the Dog’s Trust to hold an assembly about dog safety. The children learnt how to respect dogs and how to keep safe when they want to stroke a dog or when a dog gets too excited!
